This year saw the launch of a new mobile business servicing both caravans and motorhomes in the Yorkshire area. With the sale of new caravans and motorhomes increasing year on year, a gap in the market was identified. Tony Lyon the proprietor of Leisure Vehicle Maintenance Services states “caravan aftersales service outlets have been around for several years. They are usually very busy and you have to book way in advance for servicing and upgrade work. LVMS offers the same quality of work but at a time and place that is convenient to you. We can work on your caravan or motorhome at your own home, in storage or onsite. We also offer a call out service”

Tony is a highly qualified vehicle engineer who is diversifying into the leisure market. He is a registered member of the Institute of the Motor Industry (MIMI) and Advanced Automotive Engineer (AAE). “There are a lot of transferable skills, and I have attended several leisure industry training courses ensuring that my product knowledge is current. I am also LPG gas qualified and a registered member of the Mobile Caravan Engineers Association (MCEA) holding all necessary indemnity insurances”.

“I am a passionate former caravan owner and now fortunate to own a motorhome. I have over thirty years’ experience touring in both the UK and Europe. It is a perfect blend of my engineering skills and practical touring experience”

LVMS has invested heavily in new equipment and training. A fully equipped mobile workshop is used to support servicing work at the customers’ location. Many common servicing parts are held on the vehicle, ensuring that servicing work is carried out quickly and professionally.

“The business is growing nicely” states Tony “and many of LVMS customers have been very impressed with the levels of service given, as can be read in their testimonials”.
